Your eyes are shrouded in darkness when you look at me. . .

“We’ll wait another moment…” The lawyer sighed.
“She should be here soon…” Emily insisted, looking back towards the door. She wore a plain black dress and held the sleeping Alabaster in her arms. “Sh-she’s been having a tough time ever since Rynu died…”
The lawyer just nodded, looking bored.
They waited there for another 10 minutes before the door opened slowly. Kyth appeared, wearing a hooded jacket that covered her eyes and gloves that covered her hands. Tennis shoes and long dark jeans covered her legs.
“I’m sorry it took so long,” Her voice was soft and gentle. “I was at a job interview.”
“Oh,” Emily relaxed slowly. “Did you get the job?”
“Possibly, but I don’t think I’ll stay long… The boss is quite… Annoying…” Kyth sat, pulling her hood down further.
“Oh well, we can start, then…” The lawyer sat up further and mumbled, “Here we will be reading the will of Rynu Kimata…”
The lawyer droned on about unimportant things. Kyth was really getting annoyed with him; he seemed to not care that he was reading the will of a dead man that everyone he met loved.
“To Emily, my wife…” The lawyer read. “I’d like to give the estate in France, England, and America. All my money and possessions will also go to her, with the exception of those I listed to go to others.”
Emily held Alabaster closely, looking sad.
“To Kyth Kimata, my little sister,” The lawyer continued. “I’d like to give the estate in…”
The man paused.
“Is there a problem?” Kyth asked.
“N…No, I don’t think so. I’m just confused.”
“Allow me,” Kyth held out her hand and the lawyer gave her the paper. “To Kyth Kimata, my little sister,” Kyth read. “I’d like to give the estate in Kutopualo. $6 billion of my money will go to her, because I know she won’t get a job right away,” She smirked slightly. “I also would like to give her my prized Ukotami sword…”
Kyth’s eyes became sad, and she stopped reading. Rynu’s Ukotami sword was the same sword he used when he had fought Cauldwyn’s and other beasts unknown to the human world.
She continued reading, “I also give her the box of trinkets that’s in the attic, she knows what I’m talking about. Finally, I leave to her all my possessions that have anything to do with the Order.”
“The Order?” Emily asked, confused.
“It’s a game we used to play…” Kyth smiled softly. Only Rynu would have the guts to mention the Order in something as public as a human will. “I know where it all is. I hope you won’t mind me coming to get his things.”
“Of course not,” Emily smiled at her. “You’re welcome to drop by whenever you’d like.”
“Thank you,” She murmured, and handed the will back to the lawyer. “Everything seems to be in order,” She told him. “I’ll be going now, unless you have need of me still.”
“Um… No,” He answered.
“Goodbye, Emily,” Kyth gave Emily a hug and stroked Alabaster’s hair a couple times before gliding out the door.
Syn stood with a black cloth over his eyes, thin enough that he could see through but no one could see in. He wore a hooded jacket over his hair, only bits of the pure white strands showing through.
“How’d it go?” He asked, voice quiet. He knew not to give Kyth a hard time about it.
“Fine,” Kyth muttered. “I thought I told you not to stand outside the door.”
“I didn’t,” Syn said defensively. “I went to that place over there. Called McDonald’s, I think. I got a milkshake. It was very good…”
"Don’t drool on me.”
“Yes’m.”
“Why are you being nice to me? Usually you’re teasing me.”
“Because…”
“Because why?” Kyth turned sharply, facing him. “Because I just went to my brother’s will reading? Just because I went does not mean I’m weak and I can’t take your normal annoying attitude.”
“You want me to tease you, then?” Syn asked.
“Don’t treat me different just because of events.”
“Then…” Syn thought a moment, and then a big grin spread across his face. “What’d you get?”
Kyth turned swiftly, her hand meeting Syn’s stomach, and he went flying backwards. He hit the side of the building with a thud and he slumped to the ground, groaning.
“Don’t insult me,” Kyth told him, and turned and continued walking.
When Syn didn’t get up and follow, she turned.
“Syn, I know you aren’t hurt. Get up and come on over here.”
He looked up at her, pouting. “I want to see you bleed one day,” He told her. “You’ll look beautiful stained with blood.”
“Come on, you insane idiot.” She waved him on. “Let’s go.”
Syn leapt up and darted to her, grinning. “Guess what?” He asked.
“What is it?”
“While you went home last night, I was told about a very interesting mission.”
“Yes?”
“Mm hm. It’s a mission to go into the human world. It’s on the higher ranking boards.”
“The human world, hm?”
“A retrieval mission. There’s someone showing the potential to become a Reacher, and they want someone there to supervise her while she learns. Do you want to go?”
“Me? Go to the human world?” Kyth laughed. “I’d never act as a human.”
“Think how cool it would be,” Syn insisted. “I think we should do it.”
“You can’t kill people in the human world,” Kyth reminded him.
Syn paused. “Well,” He said. “I can still kill Cauldwyns. It’s an on off mission.”
“So… Staying in the human world but with permission to travel back and forth as you wish…”
“Mm hm. Intriguing, isn’t it?”
“I suppose. I’ll go check it out when we get back.”
“All right, cool.”
Syn walked beside her, silently, obediently. Kyth noticed this and glared. “What’s wrong?” She asked.
Syn glanced up. “Nothing,” He told her. “I just wish I could cut you…”
Kyth rolled her eyes and continued walking.
Syn followed, cackling.---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Kyth leapt on the top of the board again, glancing down at it until she found the assignment Syn had spoken of. She plucked it from its place and lay down on her back on the board, silky silvery hair flowing down like a river.
“The human’s name is Naomi Tenner,” Kyth tilted her head. “What a boring name.”
“Well it’s still a human,” Syn insisted.
“Shh,” Kyth scolded him. “I’m reading.”
Syn pouted.
“The assignment is to train her,” Kyth muttered. “What a bother. On top of that, we’d have to go to her school and become her ‘friends’. So they want us to use her?”
Kyth’s head tilted again.
“That’s cruel,” Syn cackled.
“Shh,” She snapped, and focused back on the assignment. She gave a sigh. “I don’t feel like doing it.”
She reattached the assignment to the board and leapt down.
“What?” Syn trailed after her. “Really, you don’t want to?”
“Really,” Kyth turned her head and grinned at him. “We’ll do well enough getting ourselves shot or something. Find another assignment.”
Syn glanced around.
“I want one with a high killing probability,” He grinned. “Can we kill lots of people, Kyth?”
“If you want,” She raised her hand. “Just don’t get hurt while you’re doing it. Hykuma will have my hide.”
“Unh,” Syn answered, and turned towards the board, glancing around. “Ooh, here’s a good one. Level ten difficulty, and lots of people to kill.”
“What is it?” Kyth asked, looking at him.
Syn snatched the paper off the board and glanced over it. “Kill all Cauldwyns in a group that has been invading human towns. Begin at midnight sharp, coordinates will be given to you at that time.”
“All right, sounds fine to me,” Kyth turned and started away. “I’m going to see my brother now. Goodbye, Syn. Be good while I’m gone.”
“Yes master,” Syn rasped, grinning.
Kyth disappeared out the doorway.
Syn’s head tilted and he trotted outside, traveling the other direction that Kyth traveled. Grinning, he darted into his office and leapt onto the chair, letting it spin wildly in circles.
He cackled.
What fun it would be to kill tomorrow.
My soul is the darkness you see.
